i don’t know about all of you, but the holiday season is always a time that brings back so many memories…whether it’s from childhood, one year ago, or even just last week! and lately, i’ve become extremely reminiscent – thinking back to all of the memories that i have been able to create over my lifetime thus far. i think it’s our memories that allow us to shape our future.
i was recently asked about my most favorite place in the world. now for me, i have been very fortunate to be able to travel abroad and experience different places and cultures. but as i thought about it, i always came back to one place in particular and it’s right in my backyard…disney world! it sounds funny coming from an adult that even to this day disney is my favorite place, but i think it goes back to all of the memories that i’ve been able to share at this magical place. it brings me back to those mornings when we would be at the magic kingdom gate for park opening…my dad and i would sprint down main street u.s.a, all the way to the dumbo attraction where we would ultimately be the first and only people on the ride. and that tradition was then shared with my little sister when she was born. it’s remembering all of those amazing times trying out different disney resort restaurants and monorail hopping just to see the fireworks from the top of the contemporary resort with keith. and those personal memories always come back to me when i visit disney property.
i like to explain it by saying, “it’s my home away from home where i can escape the mundane of everyday life and believe in a little bit of magic.” and i know there are only going to be even more amazing memories in my future at disney!
