man, i just realized i never had the chance to recap “national rosé day.” i mean, being wine lovers, we naturally celebrated a day dedicated to all things rosé by attending an event at wine bar george, one of the newest locations at disney springs?!

now, we honestly had no clue what to expect walking into the event. all we knew was that we would be attending a rosé tasting event – giving us the chance to try an assortment of different types of this fantastic wine varietal. little did we know that we were going to have the chance to “attempt” to be a master sommelier by completing a blind taste test, figuring out which wine came from which region. it was so much fun! and, none other than george miliotes, master sommelier, led the tasting.
now, i must say – we were not the greatest at figuring out which wine was from which region (we definitely need some more practice). but, we did learn about some different techniques used to taste wine, why these techniques are used and how they help you figure out the notes and more within the wines. i am all about education and learning more! and it was so fun to interact with everyone that attending the tasting, seeing which wines people liked the most and why. i know for me, i personally loved the gran moraine rosé of pinot noir. now this wine is from willamette valley, oregon and was so light and refreshing. definitely a wine that i could see myself drinking next to the pool in the summertime. honestly, all of the wines were great – each unique in their own way. i think that was one of the best parts of the tasting – sometimes i think we classify wines into these “groups,” but even within that group there are so many different ways to produce wine: the color, the aromas, the taste.
i know i cannot wait for some upcoming events at wine bar george. if you are ever in the orlando area and looking for a great wine bar, be sure to visit disney springs and wine bar george.
until next time
xoxo
