it’s a disney dream

the vacation blues have officially kicked in. who am i kidding, the vacation blues kicked in right after we walked off the boat. we had the most wonderful vacation this past weekend on the disney dream for a quick weekend getaway sailing. and it was the perfect way to celebrate keith’s birthday. the thing i love about cruises is the fact that you can truly de-plug from life and relax. i think a lot of us get so caught up in the daily workings of life that sometimes we forget to take a breath and relax (and soak up every moment).

now, this was my ninth disney cruise – only one more away from being a platinum castaway club member – and it was just as fantastic as all the rest. to me, the quality of customer service on these ships (and the quality of these ships) are top of the line. and we decided to cruise a little differently than our last sailing together. i think the first sailing, we tried to experience anything and everything that we could, especially since it was keith’s first disney cruise. but this time, we really just went with the flow. and it was incredible. we ended up spending so much more time on our balcony – which to me was the best part. being able to just relax and look out at the ocean, there is so much peace in that.

AND, we finally got the chance to dine at palo together (the adult only restaurant on the ship). and holy smokes, the food and atmosphere were absolutely incredible. my mouth still waters thinking about the mushroom risotto i had that evening. and keith had the osso buco, which looked absolutely delightful. we even had a chance to try the sea scallops as a little surprise for keith’s birthday! oh and i can’t forget the decedent chocolate soufflé. seriously, probably one of the best meals that we’ve had…to top it off, we had the most delicious bottle of wine with our meal – the barolo DOCG cannubi – marchesi di barolo. and the views…we had a table right near the floor to ceiling windows, which just provided the most perfect backdrop for the evening.

next time, we will definitely have to try a longer cruise. i know we already have a few on our bucket list. but until then, we will continue to dream of our lovely time on the disney dream and castaway cay!

until next time
xoxo
