oh my goodness, i can’t believe that it is less than 2 weeks until we are sailing away. i feel like this vacation could not come at a more perfect time. with the normal busy nature of life, we are so ready to get away and just relax (and maybe get a little sun-kissed too). and with the trip being so close, we are starting to think of the preparation for the cruise: what to pack, what activities to book, and more!
now thankfully, we’ve had a couple things booked for quite some time: a wine tasting and a delicious dinner at palo. now last time we sailed on a disney cruise, it was keith’s first DCL experience. due to that, we decided to stick to the normal dining route, that way he could try all of the different restaurants and what they have to offer. but this time, we are going to venture out one evening and have a nice, fancy dinner date to palo. i personally have not ate at palo in quite some time, but man am i excited. and outside of our already planned activities, there are definitely a few essentials that we are planning to bring:
- wine: did you know that you can bring either 2 bottles of wine or 6 beers onboard as a guest 21 years or above? we love being able to bring a couple bottles onboard with us, especially to enjoy while we are relaxing on the balcony. totally worth packing…honestly the hardest part is choosing which wines to bring with us!
- beach hat: seems like a no-brainer on this one, but this is a MUST on my list. i recently invested in a beach hat and it has been a lifesaver, especially to protect my face in the sunlight.
- clothes for any occasion: i’ll never forget on my first cruise, i totally forgot to pack a casual pair of shoes just to walk around in. since then, i’ve been sure to include a variety of choices. from beach wear to a little black dress, don’t forget to think about any occasion while packing.
now those are just a few of my essentials, but i highly recommend creating a quick short list of everything you want to pack. that way you don’t forget some of the necessities and essentials for your vacation. but most of all – we are ready to just get away and unplug. so cheers to sailing away in a couple short weeks.
until next time
