universal staycation

who doesn’t love a great staycation?! and that’s exactly what we were able to do this past friday and saturday with some of our closest friends, staying at the loews royal pacific resort at universal orlando. now this staycation was a little different than our previous ones, filled with jam-packed fun at the universal orlando resort theme parks. and it all started with halloween horror nights. while i do not like scary things (movies, experiences, etc.), this is an event that we do every year with our friends. basically it’s us girls getting scared the entire time, while the guys laugh at our reactions. and this year was definitely no different. since we were staying on property, it was a quick walk to universal studios where we were able to get to the event right as it started…and from there, it was truly an adventure from house to house with scares at almost every turn. we literally had to keep our head on a swivel to make sure we weren’t caught off guard…but who are we kidding, even when we knew frights were heading our way we still screamed. got to love it. and even without the universal express pass for the evening, we were able to get through 5 haunted houses – which scarecrow ended up being the “winner” of the night for the best house. i definitely recommend going to a later weekend, especially if you like getting scared…trust me they have their timing down by the end of the event?!

and the next day, we got to take advantage of staying on property by utilizing our room keys as universal express passes. let me tell you, it is totally worth staying at either royal pacific, hard rock or portofino bay to get those passes…the wait time gets cut down a lot, giving you more time to enjoy the thrills. and this trip, we finally got to ride jimmy fallon’s new ride – race through new york. even the queue line was awesome, having the ragtime gals come out to sing while we waiting for our pass color to be called. such a fun experience. i mean, overall how can you beat a day filled with theme park rides, ice cream, friends and more?! we definitely can’t wait for our yearly trip next year…and who knows?! maybe we will try out another resort.

until next time
xoxo
