winter park staycation

wow, it’s amazing how a staycation can really feel like you are a thousand miles away from home – even in a location where you’ve visited before. and that’s exactly how we felt during our time at the alfond inn at rollins in winter park, florida. this was my first time staying at the property, and wow what a gorgeous hotel. from the decor, to the art – i don’t think we could’ve asked for a better place to stay. it also doesn’t hurt that this hotel has been “singled out as one of the top 100 hotels in the world by the readers of Travel + Leisure in the world’s best awards 2017.” quite amazing, right?!

and BONUS, it was literally a couple blocks away from the beautiful park avenue. thankfully, we were able to start our weekend a little earlier than anticipated – allowing us to check into the hotel, then hit the town for some lunch and window shopping along park avenue. i mean, can you really beat that? i know we absolutely loved it. it was also an incredible location that allowed us to “dine around” some amazing restaurants in the evening – with a very quick and easy walk back to the hotel. it’s funny – i’ve been to this area of town before, but being able to stay in the area was a whole new experience.

overall the resort was wonderful. we even decided to dine at their restaurant, hamilton’s kitchen, for brunch. and, holy smokes – once you have their white cheddar and bacon scones, there is not going back?! they literally melt in your mouth…so yummy!

i want to hear from you, what are some of your favorite staycations?

until next time
xoxo
