running that is?! the track shack celebration of running 5k presented by florida hospital is only 17 days away, and i cannot wait. i always love the start of the track shack race series…heck, it’s one of the reasons i decided to become a fanatic again. you just can’t beat the atmosphere of these races. but with every race comes training – and i’m not going to lie, training has been a little tough lately with the heat. and although i’m not running crazy distances, the heat definitely takes its toll after a while. you’d think by now us floridians would be used to it, but nope we love cooler weather too (at least i do)?!
with that being said, i did complete a great quick run last night to gear up for the upcoming race. definitely averaging a better pace (9:37 minute average) than my recent runs, i feel like that’s a great place to start as the race series begins. i know as i continue through the series i will have “time” goals in place, but overall – i just want to enjoy the races. it’s about having fun and staying healthy – even though sometimes those competitive nerves flow. but if you’re an orlando local and you haven’t checked out the upcoming race, be sure to visit track shack to sign up! and if you’re feeling really bold, sign up to become a trach shack fanatic. from my experience, being a fanatic has been absolutely incredible – check out the perks below:
