i’m back…wow that was way too long of a hiatus from writing. between work and moving into a new house, things have definitely been hectic. but with all of the craziness, keith and i thought what better way to celebrate moving into our house than with a nice dinner at ravello in the four seasons resort orlando at the walt disney world resort. it had been almost a year since we dined at ravello, so we decided to take the plunge and make a reservation. and we were absolutely glad we did.
located on the bottom floor of the four seasons resort orlando, i’d really describe this restaurant as quaint and elegant. with a beautifully designed bar, an open kitchen and great service – we knew immediately that it would be a wonderful night. serving modern italian cuisine, keith and i decided to take a journey through italy – i mean if you’re specialty is italian, why not?! from the wine, to the food and even dessert – this journey was completely mouthwatering from start to finish.

darkslide
old overholt whiskey, averna, buffalo trace bourbon, lime, bitters, ginger beer
mastroberardino radici taurasi riserva 2006
tomato e mozzarella focaccia
manzo
16 oz. ribeye, fabrizio’s rub, grilled asparagus, roasted potatoes, chianti sauce
vitello
veal, parmesan-breadcrumb crust, tomato fonduta, roasted artichokes, ricotta-spinach gnudi
stracciatella tortoni cake
graham almond crust, espresso fudge sauce
lemon-basil sorbet
those selections, right?! absolutely divine. and while the food was absolutely incredible, it was the service that far exceeded our expectations. from our service at the bar (we arrived fairly early) to our sommelier in training waiter, there was staff to assist around every corner. and i must confess, our waiter was a great advocate to try our selected wine and it was what he called the “hidden gem” on the wine list. once he started explaining it, we were completely sold – and figured we could treat ourselves to a nice bottle of wine for our celebratory evening.
if you are ever in the orlando area, definitely make a reservation at ravello. not only is the restaurant incredible, but the chance to see this fabulous resort is a reason to go itself.
until next time
xoxo
