it’s official, the shanghai disney resort is now open! this is actually the first disney resort in mainland china – and the sixth worldwide. absolutely incredible. i won’t lie, ever since i saw the sketches and ideas for the shanghai disney resort castle i was sold on visiting – now with it open, i wish i could be there now. thankfully visiting every single disney theme park in the world is on my bucket list. i just need to figure out when exactly that will happen – but hey?! anything is possible.
after seeing the pictures and watching the videos, the amount of work and collaboration it took to create this park is extraordinary. i think the incorporation of chinese culture within the realm of the disney ideas is what makes this park stand apart. and i can see that just through the storytelling within the videos, pictures and articles – i can only imagine how it will be once i actually get to visit. i think bob iger said it best in the latest disney parks blog post about this resort:
“The grand opening of Shanghai Disney Resort is a celebration of creativity and collaboration, a triumph of imagination and innovation, and a testament to the strong partnership between Disney and China,” Iger said. “Together we have created an extraordinary destination, a magical place unique in all the world, where East meets West, the past meets the future, and anything is possible for those who believe. It is our sincere hope that this spectacular place will inspire wonder and create joy for the people of China for generations to come.”
