there is something about the south and their ability to make absolutely delicious comfort food. and during my trip to nashville, i was quickly reminded of that exact fact during a sunday brunch at harvest at homestead manor. with influences built from the southern basics, harvest truly pulls from that unique southern tennessee culture while creating perfectly executed dishes “farm-to-fork” style.

and with an incredible menu, it was hard to decide on one selection. but ultimately, i had to go with a nashville classic – hot fried chicken and waffles. a fluffy belgian style waffle with a juicy piece of chicken, which had the perfect amount of sweet to spicy, this dish completely blew away my expectations. especially when i’m typically not a “spicy” food lover – but you really can’t go wrong with nashville hot chicken.
not only was the food incredible, but the atmosphere was one of a kind. our party was actually seated in the ‘glass bar’ section of the homestead manor and let me tell you, i immediately was taking pictures and getting inspiration for the bar area keith and i want in our own place. i think the best way to describe it was rustic, yet elegant. but ultimately, it was the perfect place for a gathering of friends to catch up, reminisce and just have a grand time together (it doesn’t hurt they have some great photo spots on location too).
if you are visiting nashville, put this place on your list.
