one of the perks about living so close to disney is the fact that we can just on a whim decide to head over to the parks on a random afternoon. and that’s exactly what we decided to do yesterday. we started out at disney’s magic kingdom, but with the crowd level being so high (and the fact we can go at any time) we literally did a lap around the park and decided to head out. so where did that lead us? the monorail line disney resorts.

after our quick stop at disney’s polynesian village resort, we then started on our way to cítricos at disney’s grand floridian resort. not having any reservations, we always try our luck at the bar and man did we luck out. between great conversations with one another and the bartenders, to amazing wine and food…4 hours later we finally finished our meal.

charcuterie with a delicious selection of breads
red wine-braised beef short ribs
mashed potatoes

and we ended the night with a light and fresh dessert – sorbet and fruit, topped off with a nice brut champagne.

i really don’t think the night could’ve been any better. and the best part, none of it was planned. i always love these random adventures and looking forward to many more. if you’ve never been to cítricos at disney’s grand floridian resort, i highly recommend taking a visit to this wonderful restaurant.
