this past friday night, keith and i had a little impromptu date night at SLATE. now if you’ve never heard about SLATE i highly recommend looking into this place…it is incredible. with a seasonally changing menu, keith and i have never had a bad meal here. and honestly i don’t ever expect to.
now on this particular visit we decided to sit at the bar right near the open kitchen. the benefit of that? we were able to interact with the chefs while they are preparing the meals; so really asking questions on how things were prepared, concepts behind the restaurant and much more. the coolest part, we were actually able to interact with the head chef, dominic rice, even letting us try a little bit of the sauce he was preparing. how cool, right?!

on top of the amazing food, they have a wonderful selection of wines and craft cocktails. below were our selections for the evening:
les cadrans de lassegue, st emilion, bordeaux, ’12
seasonal g&t
seasonally infused aviation gin & jack rudy small batch tonic
pepperoni pizza
filet mignon 8oz.
spinach, fennel sofrito, frites, mushrooms
salted caramel and chocolate pot de creme
salted caramel and chocolate custard, creme fraiche chantilly, crumbled chocolate biscotti
strawberry kiwi sorbet
so if you’re looking for your next date night, or just an outing with your friends, be sure to check out SLATE. you will not be disappointed. www.slateorlando.com
