the edison

ahhhh, the edison is FINALLY open at disney springs! keith and i have seriously been waiting for this place to open…it seems like forever. i mean, when you’re locals and you see something being built – i feel like it makes the time go by so slowly. by alas, it is open.

and wow, this place does not disappoint at all…it was literally everything we had hoped and more. when we initially found out about this place, we were so excited to hear that disney springs was bringing back more of a nightlife. i unfortunately don’t remember the “pleasure island” days as it closed before i could ever really visit the space at downtown disney. so, it is like i am finally getting to experience that with this new location. this place is really one of a kind – taking us back in time to the golden age of innovation and the roaring twenties (my favorite era in history).

themed to a 1920s-period electric company, the space will recall an exuberant era of invention and imagination.

now we were very fortunate to be able to visit the edison only a few short days after it opened (we were antsy i know). AND we were able to secure a coveted seat at the bar, seated right near all of the entertainment – which included burlesque dancers, a great band that reminded us of one of our favorites, postmodern jukebox, and more (entertainment began around 9:00pm)! and the craft cocktail and food selection was incredible as well. we decided to try a few appetizers and share an entree on this visit, which the candied bacon was a hit?! not going to lie, the grilled cheese with tomato soup was fantastic as well. and keith loved the craft cocktails that he ordered – one of his favorites being the “patented old-fashioned.”

i know we cannot wait to visit again. for more information, visit the edison’s website for menus and more.

until next time
xoxo
