krog street market

wow, what a fun weekend up in atlanta. not only did i get to stay and catch up with amazing friends, but i got to meet my nephew – i mean could it get any better?! and to top it off, we even got to take the little man out and visit some incredible local places in the ATL. one of those places was krog street market, located along the atlanta beltline.

not knowing what to expect, this market was certainly something right up my alley (yes, even for picky eaters like myself). equating it to a smaller scale chelsea market, there was so much to choose from for dinner. from fried chicken, to burgers and beer – even some delicious ice cream…there is something for everyone. and one of my favorite parts was the true “local” community feel of the entire place.

so what did i decide on? well, we are going to be taking a journey to four (4) different market locations. naturally, the first stop was hop city beer & wine. i mean we had to visit the watering hole before we decided on our food choices. and wow, what a selection they had. i even ended up letting the bartender decide on which beer i was having that night, ultimately telling him that i was just in the mood for an IPA. sometimes i feel like that is the best way to go as they know their selection better than anyone, which i ultimately ended up with terrapin beer co. the walking dead (blood orange IPA). seemed fitting since the walking dead is filmed in atlanta. after getting some beverages, we made our way to the food selections. i decided on two marketplaces – fred’s meat & bread for some DELICIOUS pommes frites with aioli and richard’s fried chicken for what else?! fried chicken. and then topping off the night, we decided on some ice cream from jennis splendid ice creams. talk about a food coma!

if you are every in the atlanta area, i highly suggest checking this place out. i know i can’t wait to go back.

until next time
xoxo
