for all you disney fans out there, you are going to be extremely excited about this news. disney parks blog author, jennifer fickley-baker just posted that there will be two new show debuts within the next 3 months. the first being (drum roll please) “Rivers of Light” at disney’s animal kingdom – opening february 17th. i am extremely excited to hear about this news, especially with it opening months prior to Pandora – The World of Avatar. you have to love the phased open approach!
Continuing the grand Disney tradition of innovative, after-dark entertainment, “Rivers of Light” combines live performance, floating set pieces, a soaring musical score, fountains and more in a celebration of animals and nature. The story magically unfolds on the broad natural stage of the Discovery River, conveying the uplifting spirit of an ancient and timeless lantern ceremony and filled with symbolism, storytelling and plenty of heart.
the second, and equally as exciting, opening is a new nighttime spectacular at disney’s magic kingdom called “Happily Ever After.” set to open may 12, this new show, is combining more beloved characters including: “Moana,” “Brave,” “Aladdin” and many others. it looks like we are going to be busy bees when it comes to our disney visits. check out the sneak peek video below (courtesy of the disney parks blog).
