well race 1 of 2 in the books leading up to #winedinehalf – and it just so happens race 2 is this weekend. talk about getting prepared – even after these two races, keith and i have an 8 mile training run planned. no rest for the weary, especially with a half marathon coming up. thankfully after that 8 mile run, we are going to start shortening our mileage in those couple weeks prior to #windinehalf.
but enough about training talk, let’s get into the good stuff – yesterday’s race update. starting on new broad street in the heart of baldwin park, this course led us through the village center and around lake baldwin. what an incredible route it was, nice and easy – and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful night for the run. i ended up keeping a pretty steady pace at 10:30, which i was extremely pleased with – that ultimately will be my goal pace for the #wdwhalf coming up in january. that way i can break that 2:30 mark.
not only was the jlgo halloween hustle 5k an incredible race, but it also supported a great cause focusing on ending childhood hunger. AND the junior league of greater orlando has been contributing to this cause for almost 70 years, wow! learn more about the junior league of greater orlando here and stay tuned for more training and race updates.
next up: u can finish 5 mile
until next time
xoxo
