it absolutely amazes me how i can be a local in one city for so long and still realize that i haven’t tried half of the local places in town. and that is exactly what happened with orlando brewing – but i can finally say that i’ve checked visiting this location off of my list. and let me tell you, it definitely won’t be the last time i am there.
tucked away on atlanta ave., this brewery has a very quaint feel to it. nothing over the top, and truly the most perfect place to spend a friday afternoon with my love. and although i’ve had one of their beers before (thank you orlando for tapping local), i decided on a couple flights so i could try a variety of different brews. keith’s decision wasn’t overly difficult for him as he was extremely excited that they had their pumpkin beer on tap – tis’ the season of pumpkin beers. and they even mix their beers and give them funny names like “charlie brown” – so a mixture of the grateful pumpkin ale and the o-town brown (a favorite of keith’s this visit).
blonde ale – orlando weiss – organikolsch – steamee summer
D.A.S. rye-PA – wroth of cain belgian golden strong ale – magic pils – right on red
i even got to try a little taste of the peachy queen – literally tastes like a peach cobbler in a glass. delicious, and i don’t normally like overly fruity beers. not only did i get to try some delicious beers, but we also ended up purchasing a half gallon growler to take home a favorite from the day – steamee summer. best investment for future trips.
if you are visiting orlando, be sure to check out orlando brewing. they even offer free brewery tours monday-saturday at 6pm – first come first serve. something else i need to do on my next orlando brewing trip.
until next time
