after completing my first half marathon, i was a little nervous (based on my soreness) to go out for a run only a few days post-race. but i figured sooner rather than later would be my best option. and thankfully i did because honestly that was the best decision to kick my training back into gear. even though wine & dine is several months away, it will be here before we know it. i know that from experience.
the main goal of the run was to complete a nice and easy 2 mile run to get my legs back under me. and after keith and i battled the nagging cold recently, it was actually his first run in a couple of weeks. so perfect plan of action for both of us and the company on the route was exactly what i needed. i also channeled my dark side by wearing my inaugural star wars half marathon – the dark side shirt which didn’t hurt either.
so if you’re still debating on whether or not to get back out for a run, i highly suggest it. you may actually surprise yourself with how good your legs feel afterwards.
here’s to more training runs and races in the future.
happy training
xoxo
