over the weekend i had the wonderful opportunity to volunteer at the give kids the world village with some fabulous people. and man let me tell you, that was the best way to spend my saturday night. if you don’t know what give kids the world village is, let me give you a quick run down. they are an incredible nonprofit resort in central florida that provides week long, cost-free vacations to children with life-threatening illnesses. the most amazing thing is, they have been doing this for almost 30 years!
this resort is run by some wonderful people, including the many many volunteers that come through each and every week. and to be a part of that number is just a privilege. keith and i were able to volunteer with a cute game show – being chosen for the on stage help (not too surprised there). but while that show was outstanding, it was the little moments that truly captured my heart. from having an inpromptu dance session with some of the little girls to the high fives and fist bumps, these kids truly impacted each and every one of our lives that night.
